The English Kennel Club Recognizes the Icelandic Sheepdog Breed.

One of the largest organizations in Great Britain dedicated to the registration of dog breeds has officially recognized the Icelandic Sheepdog breed. This breed was mentioned in Icelandic sagas a thousand years ago and was featured in William Shakespeare's play 'Henry V.' However, it will be added to the official registry with pedigrees only on April 1, 2025. Despite the recognition, the Icelandic Sheepdog will not be able to participate in exhibitions under the auspices of the Kennel Club.
The club officially recognizes a breed only after several generations are born. This helps establish the animal's lineage and predict its characteristics such as temperament, health, physical activity, and care needs. One of the recently recognized breeds is the Polish Hunting Dog.
Recall that the Ukrainian government has launched a Unified State Register of Pets. This register will help more effectively prevent the spread of dangerous diseases and harmonize legislation regarding animal treatment to European standards.
