Britain has begun transferring AS90 howitzers to Ukraine: number named.

The United Kingdom is transferring 16 AS90 self-propelled artillery systems to Ukraine
The UK Ministry of Defense announced the transfer of 16 AS90 self-propelled artillery systems to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This decision is part of the new UK government's promise. Earlier, Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that his country plans to transfer 12 AS90 howitzers to Ukraine within the first 100 days of his tenure.
British military experts emphasize the critical importance of artillery in the current conflict. The AS90 SPGs will be able to provide effective coverage for Ukrainian troops and destroy key Russian targets, which could significantly affect the course of the fighting.
The AS90 is a modern self-propelled artillery system developed and manufactured in the United Kingdom. Created by Vickers Shipbuilding and Engineering in the 1980s, it was adopted by the British Army in 1993. This 45-ton machine is equipped with a powerful 155 mm gun capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 24.7 km using standard ammunition and up to 30 km with special shells.
