Indian weapons secretly transferred to Ukraine despite Russian protests: Reuters revealed the scheme.
Ukrainian military has been receiving ammunition from India for over a year, causing outrage in Russia. Reuters reports this, citing its own sources.
India sells its artillery shells to European countries, which then transfer them to Ukraine.
It is noted that Indian arms export rules restrict its use to the declared purchaser, who risks halting future sales if unauthorized supplies are detected.
According to sources, Russia twice tried to raise this issue, particularly during a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Indian counterpart in July. Indian representatives emphasized back in January that they do not supply artillery shells to Ukraine.
It is believed that India supplies only a small amount of ammunition to Ukraine. One official stated that this is less than 1% of the total amount of weapons supplied to Ukraine since the start of the war.
Among the countries supplying ammunition from India to Ukraine are Italy and the Czech Republic. The latter reported finding a million shells for Ukrainian soldiers.
India is aware of this situation but takes no measures to stop the export of its ammunition to European countries, an anonymous official reported.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine wanted India to "moderate" negotiations with Russia.
