Kyiv ranks at the bottom of the European cities ranking: what is happening with prices.

Kyiv - 125th place among European cities by cost of living
According to Numbeo, compared to 141 European cities, Kyiv ranks 125th in cost of living. This indicates a tough economic situation in the capital of Ukraine. Statistically, the average Kyiv resident earns about 23,300 UAH per month after taxes. However, monthly living expenses excluding rent amount to 21,000 UAH, while renting a one-bedroom apartment costs at least 14,000 UAH.
Compared to other European cities, Kyiv has a less balanced economic model. For example, in Barcelona, monthly expenses amount to €821, rent for an apartment ranges from €981, while the average salary is €1,890, which is enough to cover residents' daily expenses. A similar situation is observed in Warsaw, where average expenses total 3,200 PLN, rent for an apartment is 3,300 PLN, and the average salary is 7,400 PLN.
An interesting comparison is Chisinau, where living expenses without rent cost 11,000 lei, which almost matches the average salary. However, the rent in Chisinau is almost the same as in Bucharest, but the salary is half.
Kyiv - one of the cheapest cities in terms of food and service prices
Numbeo data shows that Kyiv ranks 106th in terms of rental prices. Cheaper apartments can be found in cities like Thessaloniki, Riga, Lodz, Brasov, Varna, and Skopje. At the same Time, the Ukrainian capital features the lowest prices for food and restaurant services.
Kyiv - 136th in purchasing power
Kyiv ranks only 136th among European cities in purchasing power. The ranking below it includes only Chisinau, Tirana, and other Ukrainian cities - Odesa, Kharkiv, and Dnipro.
