China to Significantly Increase Its Nuclear Arsenal: Worrisome Forecast from the Pentagon.

China is expanding its nuclear weapons
According to a report from the U.S. Department of Defense, China is rapidly increasing its nuclear arsenal. Over the past year, the number of warheads has risen by more than 100, reaching 600 units. It is forecasted that by 2030, this figure will increase to 1,000 warheads. A representative of the U.S. Department of Defense emphasized that China will continue to modernize and expand its arsenal.
China is developing new ballistic missiles
Alongside the development of nuclear weapons, China is also working on creating new intercontinental ballistic missiles. Special attention is being paid to the development of missiles that can reach the U.S., including Hawaii and Alaska. China advocates for maintaining a policy of nuclear non-aggression.
Chinese military budget
Information about the Chinese military budget is confidential, but experts estimate that China is planning to increase defense spending by 40% by 2024, which could range from $330 to $450 billion. However, this is significantly less than the U.S. defense budget, which is approaching $880 billion.
Chinese army
China has the largest number of military ships - over 370, compared to 290 in the U.S. The introduction of the third aircraft carrier 'Fujian' is planned for 2025. China is also actively developing its air fleet, including the new J-20 fighter jet.
Corruption in the Chinese military
Corruption is a serious issue in the Chinese military. Last year, 15 high-ranking officials were dismissed due to corruption schemes in defense projects.
