Marta Kostyuk unexpectedly lost at the start of the tournament at Wimbledon 2025 and was unable to advance past the first round. The Ukrainian lost to Slovene Veronika Erjavec in three sets – 6:3, 3:6, 4:6.
Kostyuk won the first set 6:3, but in the next two sets, she couldn't maintain her lead. In the decisive set, Marta managed to come back from 1:3, but lost the game 4:6. The match lasted 2 hours and 7 minutes, during which Kostyuk recorded 4 aces but did not win a game on her opponent's serve.
