Mobile pharmacy routes already cover more than 1000 settlements - Ministry of Health.

Mobile pharmacies help thousands of Ukrainians

As of May 2025, there are 29 mobile pharmacy points operating in 17 regions of Ukraine, with one more point preparing for departure. The routes of these pharmacies cover those settlements where there are no stationary pharmacies, including the most remote and frontline areas, as well as villages with limited access to medical assistance.

'We launched the first mobile pharmacy in January 2024 - with one route in the Kharkiv region. Today, their routes cover over 1000 settlements - these are thousands of people who have gained real access to medicines where there was previously no pharmacy. In wartime, a mobile pharmacy is not just a point of sale. It is a point of trust, stability, and care for people in the communities. Such pharmacies can sell both prescription and over-the-counter medicines, including drugs under the 'Affordable Medicines' program, which allows people to save money and, most importantly, not interrupt their treatment,' said Ukraine's Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko.

The highest number of settlements covered by mobile pharmacies is in the Kharkiv, Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions. They lead with the number of points in these regions - three in each. The initiative is supported both by state and municipal as well as private operators: 14 mobile pharmacies operate based on state and municipal enterprises, while another 15 are based on private ones.

The pharmacists working in mobile pharmacies not only provide necessary medicines but also basic consultations and the possibility of delivering medicines by order. The mobile pharmacy vehicles meet all requirements: they are equipped with refrigerators, special cabinets for storage, and provide the necessary temperature regime.

'Ukrpost.Pharmacy' Initiative

A separate mention is made of the initiative of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in cooperation with Ukrposhta - 'Ukrpost.Pharmacy'. This service allows receiving medicines, including under the 'Affordable Medicines' program, with free delivery. Currently, this project operates in more than 21 thousand rural settlements and has already completed over 57 thousand orders.

Thanks to the work of mobile pharmacies, over 70 thousand patients received necessary medicines. According to the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control, more than 4000 electronic prescriptions under the 'Affordable Medicines' program were redeemed in these pharmacies. Among the most popular medicines among patients are hypertension drugs, heart medications, pain relievers, vitamins, and digestive aids.

The actions of the government and the efforts of medical workers in mobile pharmacies truly ease the lives of many people, ensuring access to necessary medicines even in the most remote areas of the country.
