Moscow Under Drone Attack: Debris Falls in the Region, Explosions Persist.


On the night of May 28, drones attacked the Moscow region. According to Moscow's mayor Sergey Sobyanin, six drones were shot down that were heading to the Russian capital.
Initially, it was reported that air defense had shot down four drones, and later two more unmanned aerial vehicles did not reach Moscow.
Recently, it became known that 14 drones were shot down in one hour while approaching Moscow. Explosions were heard in the cities of Troitsk, Zhukovsky, Ramensky, and Podolsky.
Additionally, the airports of Kaluga, Vladimir, Ivanovo, Kostroma, Yaroslavl, and Domodedovo reported temporary restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft.
Sobyanin noted that emergency services are working at the crash site of the drones. There have been no reports of destruction, fires, or injuries so far.
At the same Time, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of 112 UAVs over some regions of the country.
Drone Shootdowns:
- 59 UAVs – over the territory of Bryansk region;
- 19 UAVs – over the territory of Belgorod region;
- 13 UAVs – over the territory of Tula region;
- 10 UAVs – over the territory of Kursk region;
- 8 UAVs – over the territory of Oryol region;
- 3 UAVs – over the territory of Kaluga region.
Earlier, it was reported that explosions were heard in Tula region of the Russian Federation. Local residents heard six loud explosions and also noticed drones and flashes in the sky. There are reports of air defense operations above the city of Alexin.
Events regarding the destruction of drones over the Moscow region and other regions of the Russian Federation indicate a worsening situation in the region and the possibility of provocations. Governments of various countries are enhancing security measures aimed at preventing such incidents.
