The International Monetary Fund emphasized the importance of implementing key reforms in Ukraine to ensure economic growth. In particular, the Fund calls for a comprehensive update of the fiscal system as a basis for improving the economic situation.

The Director of the IMF Communications Department, Julia Kozak, published a list of priority measures, which includes radical reform of the tax and customs system, strengthening the fight against tax evasion, and harmonizing national legislation with European standards.

Fiscal reforms to support economic growth

The Fund representative emphasized:

'This reform package is aimed at changes that, along with improving the management of public investments, preparing a medium-term budget and managing fiscal risks, will be important for supporting economic growth in Ukraine and attracting investments in the future.'

Particular attention was paid to the process of restructuring public debt. Kozak emphasized the importance of completing this procedure according to the cooperation program with the IMF and the need to increase domestic revenues to stabilize the debt situation in the country.

During the last visit to Ukraine, IMF representatives emphasized the importance of conducting fiscal reforms to support the country's economic growth. They stressed the need for reforming the tax and customs system, fighting tax evasion, as well as harmonizing legislation with European standards. Such measures can contribute to accelerating the country's economic development and attracting investments.
