A bridge collapsed in Transcarpathia: 8 settlements are left without connection

In the evening of June 24 in Transcarpathia, on the section of the T-0710 road from Nyzhni Vorota to Uzhok, a bridge collapsed. As a result, eight localities in the Mukachevo district lost direct transport connectivity. This was reported by the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Myroslav Biletskyi, as stated by 'Hlavkom'.

The bridge fell between the villages of Pidpolozzya and Zhdeniyevo. Fortunately, during the collapse, no one was injured, as there were no vehicles or pedestrians on the bridge.

This bridge is very important for connectivity, so the village of Zhdeniyevo and the villages of Zbyny, Shcherbovets, Pashkovytsia, Bukovets, Perekhresny, Chechirny, and Roztoka are now 'cut off'.

The patrol police have already developed an alternative travel route.

Repair works for the bridge

Currently, at the site of the bridge destruction, work has already begun to set up a temporary crossing over the Zhdeniivka River. Heavy machinery and relevant services are working there.

'We will soon restore traffic through this section for civilian and special transport. I am grateful for the prompt response and execution of the work,' - noted Myroslav Biletskyi.

Recall that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky explained that Ukraine decided to bring to light the story about the uncovered Hungarian espionage operation in Transcarpathia to make it clear that it possesses this information. Thus, the Military National Security Service of Hungary (KNBSZ) was searching for vulnerable spots in Ukraine in the border area.

The collapse of the bridge in Transcarpathia caused hardships for eight localities, which are now cut off from the outside world. The government is already responding to the incident, looking for ways to solve the issue and restore transport connectivity in the region.
