Cheated the company: Meta fired employees for misuse of food vouchers.

Meta has dismissed over 20 employees who abused free food vouchers by spending them on household goods. Instead of groceries, employees were buying toothpaste, laundry detergent, wine glasses, and other goods. According to The Guardian, they ordered food home when they were not in the office.
On the days when I don't have lunch at the office, for example when my husband cooks meals or when I dine with friends, I decided that I shouldn't spend the vouchers on food
One of the dismissed employees admitted to using the food vouchers to purchase household items. She was earning a salary of $400k. She broke the rules, and was fired. Other employees who rarely violated the rules were only given warnings.
Free meals at the workplace are a practice in many large tech companies. At Meta, employees usually have the opportunity to eat for free in cafeterias located in offices, including the headquarters in Silicon Valley. However, employees of smaller branches receive daily food vouchers through delivery services such as UberEats and Grubhub worth $70 a day.
Recall that the Samsung Electronics employees' union announced an indefinite general strike demanding respect for labor, increased vacations, and improved bonus systems.
Furthermore, in South Korea, it was recognized that Samsung Electronics violated radiation safety regulations, which led to the irradiation of workers at a semiconductor manufacturing plant. The relevant safety device did not activate due to team negligence.
