Palisa reported when Russia may intensify offensive actions.

Deputy Head of the President's Office, participant in the Russo-Ukrainian war Pavlo Palisa expects that Russia will intensify its offensive actions in April and May. As reported by 'Glavkom', he shared this in an interview with Reuters.
In his opinion, the occupiers will focus their offensive on the town of Pokrovsk, but could also advance near Kupiansk and Lyman, as well as near Zaporizhzhia and Novopavlivka.
“The absolute priority, in my opinion, will now be on the Pokrovsk direction,” said Palisa.
Russian troops are trying to encircle the strategically important city of Pokrovsk to achieve their goal of establishing full control over the Donetsk region of Ukraine.
Recall that the Russian Federation has begun a new phase of a large-scale offensive, increasing pressure on the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. This was reported by 'Glavkom' with reference to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.
Glavkom confirmed the activation of hostilities in the northern direction. The general reminded that last year Russia did not achieve significant strategic breakthroughs, although it actively used manpower for tactical advantages. However, since then the enemy's approach has not changed significantly.
It was previously reported that the Russian army is preparing reserves to make a breakthrough at the front in May.
By the way, the speed of the Russian troops' advance on the territory of Ukraine has been decreasing since November 2024. ISW compared how much territory Russia occupied in March and how much was captured in November.
Also, in the Sumy region on the border with the Russian Federation, there are many attacks. Today, more than 67 thousand Russian soldiers are located in the Kursk direction. This was stated by President Zelensky at a meeting with journalists, reported 'Glavkom'.
According to the guarantor, the Russians were finishing this relocation for an offensive in the Sumy direction. “Something had to be changed in their plans. Accordingly, there were steps in the Kursk region, where it borders on the Belgorod direction. Appropriate steps were taken by our warriors, which stretched out and prevented the Russians from forming an offensive 'fist' in the form they were counting on,” the president explained.
In the morning, on April 9, Zelensky had a meeting with Oleksandr Syrskyi, Andriy Hnatov, and Mykhailo Drapaty. They detailed to the head of state what “is happening, where there are problems and where there are successes”.
