Poland during its EU presidency wants to completely free Europe from energy resources from the Russian Federation.

During its EU presidency in the first half of 2022, Poland plans to make stopping the import of Russian energy to Europe its priority. This was announced by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Climate and Environment of Poland Krzysztof Bolest at the Warsaw Security Forum. He noted that Poland has already completed 80% of the path to abandoning Russian energy, with the most difficult 20% remaining.
Bolest also emphasized that some EU countries find it difficult to give up Russian gas as it is their main source of imports. Therefore, he called on European partners to act together and help these countries achieve independence from Russia.
The Polish official also stated that during Poland's presidency of the EU in 2022, they plan to achieve a complete stop of Russian energy supplies to Europe, in line with EU program documents. He acknowledged that this task is not easy, but noted that with joint efforts it will become an achievable goal.
