Sell copper on OLX — what is happening with scrap prices in July.

Ukrainians can easily sell their copper scrap through the OLX classifieds platform. This metal is always in demand due to its properties.

Cost of copper on OLX

Copper is a unique metal that is used to produce many household items. On OLX, you can constantly find ads for copper acceptance, but prices are usually not specified. We examined prices in various cities of Ukraine: Poltava - 345 UAH/kg, Kyiv - 350 UAH/kg, Ternopil - from 325 to 350 UAH/kg, Lutsk - 350 UAH/kg for pure copper and 330 UAH/kg for burned.

In Sumy, scrap can be found for 325 UAH/kg, in Zaporizhzhia the price is higher — 340 UAH/kg. The highest prices are in Kharkiv — up to 345 UAH/kg. However, the final profit from selling copper depends on many factors such as the quality of the metal, its condition, or even the season of the year.

Potential of scrap collection in Ukraine

The future of the Ukrainian scrap collecting industry significantly affects the state of machine engineering. In developed countries, machine engineering is considered one of the main sectors of the economy. Ukraine is lagging behind in this regard, with only 10 to 12% of exports accounting for machine engineering.

'From it, we have 40-45% of total exports in monetary terms. The contribution of Ukrainian machine engineering to exports is only 10-12%, and part of this is the assembly of cable systems for international companies on a tolling scheme'

Ukrainians have the opportunity to sell copper scrap on the OLX platform at favorable prices. The future of scrap collecting in Ukraine depends on the development of machine engineering, which so far remains a less influential export sector than in developed countries.
