Today, May 5, residents of Moscow and the Moscow region experienced issues with mobile internet and communication. This occurred due to preparations for the Victory Day parade on May 9. This was reported by the publication 'Glavkom' citing Russian media.
The Unified State System for Prevention and Liquidation of Emergencies began sending SMS messages to Muscovites.
'Possible restrictions on access to the internet due to security measures for the festive events taking place,' the message noted.
According to Russian media, the restrictions are related to combat aviation conducting training and 'drawing the tricolor in the sky.'The press service of the operator 'Beeline' confirmed the blocking of mobile communication and internet. Company representatives reported that this may be caused by 'circumstances beyond the operator's control' and their services are temporarily unavailable. It is noted that Russian leader Vladimir Putin announced a so-called 'ceasefire' during the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day. A military parade will take place in Moscow on May 9, which will involve representatives from over 20 countries.Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha stated that if Russia truly seeks peace, it must immediately cease fire. 'Why wait until May 8? If it can cease fire now and for the next 30 days, then it is real, not just for the parade,' he noted.Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged not to believe Moscow's promises of a ceasefire and to be prepared for provocations on May 9. He also warned those who still believe the Kremlin that they could become victims.According to him, Ukraine cannot guarantee the safety of representatives from other countries during their visits to Moscow for the May 9 parade. It should be noted that nearly three hundred anti-aircraft defense systems were moved to Moscow ahead of the May 9 parade.
