The Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, expressed his willingness to resume direct negotiations with the Ukrainian government. He proposed returning to the format of meetings in Istanbul, where dialogue was previously suspended. However, the President of the Russian Federation ignored the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire from Ukraine, the US, and Europe.

As reported by 'Khvylia', Putin scheduled a meeting for Thursday, May 15, and shared plans for future conversation with the Turkish president: 'Tomorrow there will be a conversation with Erdogan. I would like to ask him to provide a platform.'

Moreover, Putin noted that possible agreements on a ceasefire could be reached during these negotiations. This could open doors to further peace agreements and contribute to ending the conflict.

Thus, important negotiations between the Kremlin and Kyiv could become a breakthrough in resolving the situation in Eastern Ukraine and promote a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
