Israel's external intelligence service planted explosives in Hezbollah pagers long before the explosion. Reuters reports this.
In Lebanon, many Hezbollah pagers, which they use for communication, exploded, resulting in numerous injuries and deaths.
According to Lebanon's Security Service, Hezbollah ordered 5000 pagers from the Taiwanese company Gold Apollo, which were imported into Lebanon this year.
The founder of Gold Apollo claims that the explosive pagers were manufactured in Europe and refused to comment on the exact location.
Hezbollah militants use pagers as a means of communication to prevent Israel from tracking them.
A high-ranking Lebanese source reported that the pagers were modified by Mossad, and the built-in explosives were activated using a code.
The new pagers concealed up to three grams of explosives, which remained "unnoticed" by Hezbollah.
Analysis of images of the destroyed pagers showed that they match the pagers manufactured by Gold Apollo from Taipei.
The Israeli operation against Hezbollah has its aim, as reported by Axios.
