Russia failed to manipulate UN statistics regarding Crimea - Kyslytsia.

The UN failed to adopt Russia's manipulative amendment regarding the approval of the scale of contributions of member states for the next three years.
According to Ukrinform, Russia attempted to accuse the UN Secretariat of considering the population of Crimea as belonging to Ukraine. Serhiy Kyslytsia, the Secretary of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN, explained that the Secretariat was fulfilling its duties in accordance with the resolutions of the General Assembly and the UN Security Council. Amendments to the scale of contributions can be made by delegations of member states, and this is exactly the amendment that Russia attempted to introduce, trying to drag the UN Secretariat into a procedure regarding Crimea.
The Ukrainian delegation immediately stated that Russia's initiative was unfounded and aimed only at accusing the UN Secretariat of violating resolutions and decisions. After Russia's amendment, which did not receive support, the Russian delegation requested to vote on the draft resolution without their proposals. The resolution was supported by 151 countries, with only five countries against (Russia, Belarus, Comoros, Nicaragua, and Sudan).
