'Sort it out yourself': NYT learned what Trump told Zelensky after the call with Putin.

Trump called for Ukraine and Russia to resolve the war on their own
U.S. President Donald Trump told Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the war between Ukraine and Russia should be resolved independently. This information is reported by the publication 'Hvilya', citing an article from The New York Times.
After a phone conversation with Russian President Putin during a call involving leaders from the U.S., Ukraine, and Europe, Trump expressed this opinion. According to the publication, he believes that Ukraine and Russia should negotiate on their own regarding the resolution of the conflict, refusing threats to join the European campaign to intensify pressure on Russia through new sanctions.
Trump told Zelensky and other European leaders after his phone call with Putin that Russia and Ukraine must find a solution to the war themselves, just days after stating that only he and Putin have the authority to conclude an agreement.
According to sources, Trump believes that additional sanctions against Russia could harm American businesses, and he himself seeks to expand economic opportunities for his fellow citizens. Discrepancies between the U.S. and Europe may escalate during the summer G7 and NATO summits, where support for Ukraine and measures to deter Russian troops will be discussed.
Currently, the European Union is considering the possibility of direct negotiations between Ukraine and Russia with the involvement of the U.S.
Analyzing the events, it can be noted that such statements and actions by Trump may provoke tensions in relations between the U.S. and European countries, as well as between Ukraine and Russia. A refusal to support sanctions against Russia could strengthen the Kremlin's position and provoke misinterpretations in Ukrainian society.
