Rubio explained how the USA wants to understand Russia's readiness for peace.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that before evaluating Russia's intentions regarding ending the war, it is necessary to clarify their demands. He shared this in an interview with Fox News.
'We are going to check their willingness for peace. We said: do you want to end the war or continue? If you want to put an end to it, we can discuss how to achieve that from your perspective. But if you want to continue, just let us know right now,' Rubio explained.
According to Rubio, the parties agreed to send diplomatic teams to discuss the conditions for ending the war. He emphasized that unrealistic demands from Russia indicate a lack of genuine desire to resolve the conflict.
'We need to verify this proposal. The president wants to know from the very beginning of his presidency whether the Russians are interested in ending this war,' Rubio stressed.
Additionally, Marco Rubio reported that the USA has not yet finalized an agreement with Ukraine regarding rare earth metals. According to him, Finance Minister Bessent is actively working on this issue, and the work is nearing completion. Rubio described the upcoming agreement as 'good' and one that would contribute to 'ending this war.'
