The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, held a meeting regarding the activities in May 2025. According to him, the Ukrainian forces continue to hold back the Russian enemy and inflict losses on it in various sections of the front, particularly in the Pokrovsk, Toretsk, Lyman, Novopavlivsk directions, and in the border areas of Sumy region. The situation is particularly acute in the Zaporizhzhia direction, where the enemy is conducting large-scale attacks.
Ukrainian forces respond to the attacks, strengthening the defense and improving the tactical position. They actively interact with each other, using artillery, aviation, and unmanned systems to strike enemy forces. Additionally, the Ukrainian army strikes Russian military facilities, causing significant losses to the enemy.

In May 2025, Russian troops lost more than 34 thousand personnel. Ukrainian forces not only strike the enemy's manpower and equipment on the front line, but also conduct strikes deep into enemy territory. 58 targets in Russia were hit using DeepStrike, significantly undermining the enemy's military-industrial complex.
In particular, in the Kursk direction, Ukrainian troops manage to inflict significant losses on the fiercest Russian units. The Commander-in-Chief also noted that Russia has an advantage in the use of fiber-optic drones, complicating the fight against them.
