How many parishes of the Moscow Church have joined the OCU? Ternopil OVA acknowledged the failure.

The law banning the Moscow Church, which was adopted in the Ternopil region, did not lead to any religious community transitioning to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This information was confirmed by the Ternopil regional military administration, which was quoted by the 'Glavkom' portal.
According to 'Glavkom', out of 85 organizations of the UOC MP, none of them changed their jurisdiction after August 2024.
Fourth paragraph
It should be noted that after the adoption of the law banning the Moscow Church, nine months have passed since May 20, 2025. This period was allocated for religious communities considered affiliated with Russia to voluntarily separate. There are only a few weeks left for parishes, monasteries, and other religious organizations to implement changes on Time. But even now, it can be confidently stated that almost no one has taken advantage of the opportunity provided by the legislator. More than 90% of the Church communities in unity with the Moscow Patriarchate did not comply with the law's requirements and did not register their statutes.
Earlier, it was reported that over the past two years, 22 religious communities of the Moscow Church joined the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the Zhytomyr region. The UOC MP still has 584 religious communities.
At the same time, over the past year, only three religious communities of the Moscow Church joined the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the Lviv region. To date, no religious communities of the Moscow Church have transitioned to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the Zaporizhia region.
Furthermore, since August 2024, 20 out of 629 religious communities in Khmelnytskyi region joined the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The Ivano-Frankivsk region currently has no religious communities of the Moscow Church.
The law banning the Moscow Church in Ternopil region, unfortunately, did not significantly influence the transition of religious communities to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Although some communities in other regions of Ukraine joined, the overwhelming majority of organizations remain loyal to the Moscow Church. This may be related to various factors, such as traditions, cultural ties, and individual preferences. Understanding such topics allows for a better comprehension of the complexity of the situation, as well as the potential challenges arising in efforts to attract religious communities to another church. Undoubtedly, this is an important issue for Ukraine that requires further attention and research by the academic and civic community.
