The event took place on April 20, on the day of the Resurrection of Christ, celebrated by Orthodox, Greek Catholics, and Roman Catholics. In one of the churches in Kyiv, residents of Kyiv came to the church with children, friends, and parents, carrying baskets adorned with embroidered towels and candles. In the baskets, in addition to Easter cakes and eggs, there were also meat, lard, horseradish, and salt. After the blessing of the Easter cakes, all families gather at the festive table to ensure well-being throughout the year. The Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epiphany, congratulated Ukrainians on Easter in a video address. He expressed hope for the victory of truth and goodness on this day.
