South Street in Dnipro renamed in honor of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army.

South Street in Dnipro has been renamed to Ukrainian Volunteer Army Boulevard. This is one of almost 500 toponyms that have changed their names over the past 2.5 years. This was reported by the city council's press service.
Mayor of Dnipro Boris Filatov emphasized that the city should honor the heroes who defend the Ukrainian state, and renaming streets in honor of those who dedicate their lives and health to the freedom of all is fair. He also added that he personally has been helping the fighters of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army since 2014.
The Ukrainian Volunteer Army Boulevard is located in the center of Dnipro and borders Cologne. The famous statue "Atlas" is also located here.
The decision of the Dnipro City Council to rename one of the central streets in honor of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army was received with great gratitude. Sincerely grateful to the Mayor of Dnipro, Boris Filatov, deputies, and all patriotic residents for such an Honor!
The Ukrainian Volunteer Army is a volunteer military formation of Ukraine, formed at the beginning of the war with Russia. Its fighters actively participated in the ATO/JFO and are one of the most effective units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Verkhovna Rada considered renaming five populated places, but failed to rename Pervomaisk in Mykolaiv region and Synelnykove in Dnipropetrovsk region.
