Main Intelligence Directorate confirmed the elimination of the Russian colonel responsible for training UAV operators.


Elimination of Russian army colonel Aleksey Vladimirovich Kolomeytsev
On September 27, 2024, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported the elimination of Russian army colonel Aleksey Vladimirovich Kolomeytsev in the city of Kolomna, Moscow region.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, the 51-year-old Kolomeytsev headed the 924th State Center for Unmanned Aviation of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (military unit 20924). This center was engaged in training specialists in the combat use of drones, including "shaheds," and training personnel for UAV maintenance.
Ukrainian intelligence emphasizes that Kolomeytsev was directly involved in Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and the commission of war crimes. The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine emphasizes that there will be fair retribution for every war crime.
Earlier, Ukrainian media, citing intelligence sources, reported that the elimination of Kolomeytsev took place on the night of September 27. According to hromadske sources, this was a joint operation of the Main Intelligence Directorate and the local resistance movement.
