A massive outage occurred in popular services worldwide.


Today, June 12, a global internet outage occurred due to issues at Cloudflare and Google Cloud. This caused temporary disruptions in well-known services such as Google, Spotify, Discord, AWS, and others. This was reported by Glavkom, referencing data from Downdetector.
More than 13 thousand users reported problems with Google Search, Meet, Nest, Drive, Maps, and other services. Regarding Spotify, there were 27 thousand reports of issues with music streaming. Discord experienced problems with displaying attachments. Other platforms that operate through Google Cloud or Cloudflare, such as Twitch, Snapchat, OpenAI/Product AI, CharacterAI, also felt the impact of this outage.
Cause and consequences of the outage
The global network outage was caused by issues at Cloudflare and partially at Google Cloud. Both services are already working to address the negative consequences of the outage.
It is also worth noting that ChatGPT from OpenAI was temporarily unavailable to some users worldwide due to these issues. Significant problems with its functionality were also identified.
We remind you that earlier in Ukraine there were large-scale malfunctions in banking terminals, and before that - at the capital's airport in Moldova due to a Russian cyberattack.
