Ukrainians can receive money for heating: how to apply for assistance.

Ukrainian families who heat their homes with firewood or coal can receive additional financial assistance for their purchase.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Social Policy.
The ministry announced the continuation of a joint program with UNHCR, within which Ukrainian families receive financial support for the purchase of solid fuel. This initiative has been running for the second year in a row.
During the current heating season of 2024, financial support has been received by more than 245.5 thousand Ukrainian families. The total amount of payments exceeded 3.4 billion hryvnias.
In particular:
- 2.4 billion hryvnias - from the state budget of Ukraine,
- 1.02 billion hryvnias - through UNHCR.
'In winter, it is extremely important that we provide additional support to the most vulnerable segments of the population, especially pensioners, people with disabilities, and low-income families who have suffered from the prolonged war and constant Russian attacks on critical infrastructure,' said UNHCR representative in Ukraine Carolina Lindholm Billing.
Payments for solid fuel are determined separately for each family, using an individual approach. There is an inverse relationship between family income and the amount of assistance: families with lower income receive more substantial support for purchasing fuel. At the same Time, compensation is calculated taking into account the fuel consumption standards.
Additional payments are provided to citizens who receive housing subsidies and benefits for the purchase of solid fuel during the winter period.
For those who are already recipients of a subsidy or benefit for solid fuel, the process of receiving assistance is automatic. The Pension Fund has all the necessary data and independently transfers funds to the recipient's bank card.
If you have not yet applied for a benefit or subsidy, but need state support, you need to contact the Pension Fund, submit an application of the established form, and go through the standard registration procedure.
Let us remind you who will be affected by the sharp increase in tariffs in 2025.
