On the first day of the women's wrestling finals at the European Championships in Bratislava, Ukrainians won four medals. Oksana Lіvach became the European champion in the 50 kg weight category, defeating Evin Demirhan from Turkey with a score of 8:0. This is Lіvach's second gold at the European Championships, the first was six years ago.

Anastasia Alpeeva also won a gold medal in the 76 kg weight category. She defeated Yasemin Adar from Turkey with a score of 6:0. This is Anastasia's first final at the senior Euro, and she already has gold from youth and junior European championships in her collection.

Oleksandra Khomenets won a bronze medal in the 55 kg weight category, defeating Tuba Demir from Turkey with a score of 6:2.

Alina Filippovych also won bronze in the 59 kg category, defeating Erika Bognar from Hungary with a score of 3:2.

United World Wrestling allowed Russian Dina Kudaeva to compete in the European Wrestling Championships.

Despite the fact that the International Olympic Committee requires a 'neutral' status for athletes from the Russian Federation, the International Wrestling Federation continues to allow Kudaeva to compete.

At the European Championships, Dina Kudaeva will compete in the 65 kg category, and Ukrainian Iryna Kolyadenko will represent this weight category.

Iryna Kolyadenko was under occupation in Irpin during the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022. She was only able to leave the city at the end of March.
