Walz outlined possible compromises for achieving peace in Ukraine.

The administration of US President Donald Trump is working on resolving the conflict in Ukraine and is proposing compromise solutions that may include concessions from Kyiv. This was stated by White House National Security Advisor Mike Walz.
Walz reported that together with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, he visited Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), where he met with Ukrainian representatives to discuss a 30-day ceasefire. According to him, despite Vladimir Putin's rejection, the Russian president will consider the proposal.
'Putin has put forward some proposals that President Trump's national security team will consider in the coming days. We are engaged in diplomatic dialogue,' said Walz.
The administration is discussing several components of a potential agreement, including:
- A deal on rare earth minerals
- Maintaining American presence in Ukraine
- Possible deployment of European troops
- Exclusion of Ukraine's accession to NATO
- Concession of territories to Russia (possibly Donbas)
Walz did not rule out the possibility that Russia may receive Donbas along with Crimea.
'We have a question: is it realistic to drive every Russian out of every inch of Ukrainian land, including Crimea? Our strategy is to support Ukraine, regardless of the timeline, but that means a war in which we lose hundreds of thousands of people over a few months. And it could escalate into World War III,' the advisor stated.
The Trump administration seeks peace and is looking for ways to stop killings on the battlefield. They are working through diplomatic channels and negotiations with both sides.
'Only President Trump could change this situation,' Walz quoted NATO's Secretary General.
