In an NHL regular season game, the Vancouver Canucks managed to win against the Dallas Stars after trailing by three goals with just one minute left in the third period. This was reported by 'Glavkom'.

The match, held in Dallas, ended with a score of 6:5 (0:2, 0:1, 5:2, 1:0) in favor of the visiting 'Vancouver'.

With one minute remaining, the Canucks scored three goals and turned the game around, becoming the first team in NHL history to overcome such a deficit.

The Canucks' goalies allowed five goals and were losing 2:5 with 59 seconds left in the game, but thanks to goals from Aatu Raty and Pius Suter, scored within seconds, the team managed to bring the game to overtime. In the overtime, Vancouver scored the winning goal by Kiefer Sherwood.

After this victory, the Canucks collected 85 points and kept their playoff hopes alive.

The record for overcoming a deficit in the last minute by three goals belonged to the Montreal Canadiens. In 2014, when they were down 1:4 with 3:22 left in the game, the Canadiens managed to tie the score and beat the Ottawa Senators in overtime 5:4.

It is worth remembering that Johnny Gaudreau, a player for the Columbus Blue Jackets and Team USA, along with his brother Matthew, tragically died in a bicycle accident in August 2024 due to a collision with a drunk driver named Sean Higgins.

Johnny Gaudreau's widow, Meredith Gaudreau, gave birth to their third child - a boy named Carter Michael Gaudreau. In her social media post, she expressed her love for her late husband and promised the child the best life.
