Zelensky met with Austin, Rutte and Pistorius: what was discussed.


The President of Ukraine met with the leaders of the defense ministries of Germany and the USA, as well as with the NATO leadership to strengthen Ukraine's defense capability.
During the meeting with the German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, issues regarding military assistance for 2025 were discussed, in particular, the supply of air defense systems and support for arms production in Ukraine. The continuation of cooperation within the 'Ramstein' framework was also considered.
During the meeting with Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, the current situation on the front and the use of drones in combat operations were discussed. The need for Ukraine in various types of unmanned aerial vehicles and the possibilities of strengthening air defense through Ukrainian and international efforts were considered.
With NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, the strengthening of Ukraine's air defense and the possibility of NATO countries purchasing Ukrainian weapons based on the Danish model were discussed.
It should be noted that the 25th 'Ramstein' meeting took place on January 9 under the leadership of US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin with representatives from over 50 countries and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
The USA will announce the last military aid package worth 500 million USD, which Ukraine is to receive by January 20.
