Ukrainian legislation provides for the charging of penalties to citizens who do not pay child support on Time.
The penalty is charged to the alimony payer for overdue payments in favor of the recipient of payments. The penalty may be 1% of the debt amount for each day of delay, but no more than 100% of the total debt amount. In addition, the debtor may face restrictions on leaving the country, asset seizure, registration as a debtor, and other penalties.
Procedure for charging penalties and repaying debts
The alimony recipient must file a lawsuit in court to recover the debt and penalty. After receiving a court ruling, the enforcement document should be submitted to the executor for forcible collection of the penalty from the debtor. The debtor may attempt to reach a settlement agreement or submit a petition to the court to reduce the penalty amount in case of valid grounds, such as illness or loss of employment.

Penalties for late payment of alimony for children can represent serious financial responsibility for debtors. In the event of payment delays, the affected party receives a penalty as a benefit, and the amount of this penalty can significantly increase the total debt amount. Therefore, it is important to pay alimony on time to avoid such consequences.Read also
