The government named the number of sports facilities in Ukraine destroyed as a result of Russian aggression.

Ukraine has witnessed the destruction or damage of 523 sports facilities due to Russian aggression. This was reported by the spokesman of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, Serhiy Bykov, during a round table at «Ukrinform».
«To date, according to the latest calculations, 523 sports facilities have been damaged or completely destroyed throughout the country. Among the recently affected facilities is the Kharkiv Palace of Sports, which was hit by six missiles. Unfortunately, with the development of Russian aggression, the number of destroyed sports facilities is continuously increasing,» Bykov said.
According to him, it is currently wrong to build large sports facilities, as a full-scale war is ongoing. He emphasized that the most important thing is to ensure security and defense, as this guarantees our existence.
Bykov noted that more than $300 million is needed to restore the sports infrastructure. At the same Time, he remarked that any figure is already manipulative, as there are several approaches to assessing the damage.
Let us remind you that well-known Ukrainian powerlifter and strongman Oleksandr Bilokon died during the war against Russian occupiers.
Earlier, famous fencer Rostyslav Livach died in battles for Ukraine.
