Moscow authorities issued binoculars to utility workers: they must track drones.

Utility workers in Moscow are searching for drones ahead of May 9
Utility workers in Moscow have been sent to rooftops with binoculars to search for drones ahead of the May 9 celebrations. This task is being carried out in connection with drone attacks before the festive events, reports The Moscow Times.
“District craftsmen were issued binoculars and sent to the roofs of apartment buildings to monitor for drones. Well, everyone else needs to look at the sky, searching for drones,” said an employee from one of Moscow's districts.
Due to the increasing number of drones, utility workers are working almost around the clock. In addition, they coordinate patrols with the police and engage anti-drone units to protect against potential threats.
“At the points in the attics, there are shifts with anti-drone units, we monitor, preparing to shoot them down. Janitors were given binoculars,” explained one of the utility workers.
Restrictions on mobile internet ahead of Victory Day
Recall that in Moscow, restrictions have been imposed on mobile internet ahead of the Victory Day celebrations. This was reported by the spokesman for the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, urging citizens to approach these measures 'with understanding'.
“You know, appropriate explanations have been provided, there may be restrictions in operation, this is not a failure, these are restrictions in the operation of mobile internet for understandable reasons. And, of course, this needs to be approached with understanding,” said Peskov.
The Kremlin representative noted that the authorities must take into account the potential threats from drones that can attack various territories in Russia, including Moscow.
During the celebration of important dates, especially under heightened threat conditions, the use of drones can pose a serious risk to public safety. Therefore, the authorities are taking measures to detect and neutralize potential threats, engaging various services and utility workers in this work.
